Cyberpunk 2077 fix for The Witcher 4: Development stops if there's a problem.
September 2, 2026

CD Projekt Red had focused heavily on the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 during its development, believing they could address console performance issues later. The studio had previously achieved similar results with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the same plan didn't work with Cyberpunk 2077. Significant performance issues emerged, particularly on older generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles. This became one of the biggest controversies surrounding Cyberpunk 2077's launch. CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michał Nowakowski explained that the company took a different approach with The Witcher 4. According to Nowakowski, developers can now go to the studio and run the game on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X.
